About

Carrot Productions is the world’s leading performer of ‘The Snowman’ film with live orchestra, an accolade also attributed to ‘Wallace & Gromit’ and ‘Shaun the Sheep’. With a passion to innovate across many art forms, the company collaborates with artists to create exciting new shows for families, always placing the orchestra at the forefront of the experience. In partnership with the foremost British brands such as Aardman, Penguin and more, the world class shows are now offered to orchestras and promoters worldwide.

In addition, Carrot Productions is behind Pride Classical, a show that celebrates the music and history of the LGBTQ+ community via brand new arrangements of beloved songs by iconic artists, performed by a full professional orchestra of LGBTQ+ musicians and allies, as well as trailblazing project My Pride Song.

Carrot Productions is headed up by co-founders Rachel Whibley and her husband Daniel, who composes and arranges all of the music, and they place a massive focus on taking classical music out of the concert hall to make it accessible for new audiences of all ages, and for anyone with additional needs, which is something incredibly close to their hearts.

The Campaign

We first met our good friends at Carrot Productions when we worked with them to great success in the summer of 2023 on the launch of their trailblazing project My Pride Song, a celebration of Pride and allyship, born out of Pride Classical, calling upon as many LGBTQ+ community members and allies as possible to contribute a video message with the story behind their choice, the importance of the song, and why the music of Pride matters to them; we helped with celebrity contributors and a full comms campaign.

We loved working together so much that the relationship has continued across numerous projects over the last 18 months; delivering fantastic national and regional comms campaigns, full of broadcast-based coverage and lovely interviews, for Carrot’s festive 2023 UK tour of The Snowman, and the 2024 UK tour of The Snowman and The Snowdog are massive highlights for us.

The 2024 tour stopped in Buxton in December, so we linked Carrot up with another of our favourite clients, global art producer Wild in Art, who by chance had a Snowdogs public art trail in the same place at the same time, and alongside Carrot, organised a large scale flash mob performance of Walking in the Air in amongst the sculptures, with close to 200 local school children singing, and BBC West Midlands went along to capture it for both TV and radio.

In early 2024, Carrot tasked us with raising the profile of co-founder Daniel Whibley and his composing and arranging work; he has been making waves in entertainment and education in recent years and has created the music played by the BBC Philharmonic for hit educational CBeebies show Musical Storyland, and it was time to tell people about it – we placed him for interview on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Manchester, as well as a number of features in business, education and consumer titles.

In spring 2024, we jumped on board once again to look after My Pride Song but this time for Pride in Liverpool as Carrot produced and performed Pride Classical; we delivered a regional comms campaign, generated contributions from celebrities and consulted on overarching PR for the event as a whole on Carrot’s behalf.

We’re currently working on something super exciting! ‘Music for the Senses’ is a brand-new, city-wide multi-sensory art trail taking over the city this summer from 7 July – 31 August, and a guitar amnesty, to collect musical instruments for art installations, exhibitions and to donate to grassroots musicians, is now open. One of the many […]

We first worked with Martin Collins from Arts Trust Productions on the multi-platform release of Emancipation of Expressionism, back in 2017, and have since worked together to raise awareness and develop audiences for some brilliant projects, including two live productions for the Russell Maliphant Dance Company, a film for the BBC, and a series of […]
