The Tez O'Clock Show for Channel 4

About

The Tez O’Clock Show is a late-night satirical comedy show… that is TRULY anti-establishment – it’s hosted by a northern working-class British-Asian-Muslim.

Comedian Tez Ilyas presents a fast-paced mix of stand-up, sketches and studio antics. Filmed in Manchester with a combination of comedians and celebrity guests, this hilarious and subversive show will blow the cobwebs off TV satire and prove once and for all that it’s possible to joke about anyone and anything without getting cancelled.

The show is a topical mix of sketches and studio antics, including provocative monologues and celebrity interviews.

The Campaign

We put together a bespoke programme publicity campaign that focussed on achieving cut through into all TV listings and national supplements including picks of the day in The Guardian, Radio Times and The Sun.

Backed up by a personalised strategy that focused on Tez’s northern roots, his comedy, cultural references, his political views and history at the Home Office taking in print, online, comedy, broadcast and culture titles on a national level and provided opportunity for Tez’s northern co-hosts with a strong regional campaign.

Over the course of the campaign we placed an interview on BBC Breakfast, a BTS interview feature in The Face, an interview in The Guardian, comedy features in Chortle, Beyond the Joke and British Comedy Guide and cultural features in DesiBLITZ, Asian Image and JOE.

Further national and regional broadcast interview features included Sunday Brunch, Radio 4 Loose Ends, BBC Asian Network, BBC Radio 5 Live, Scroobius Pip Podcast, The Muslim Vibe Podcast, BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio Lancashire.

We also placed newslines and clips each and every week on the morning of TX on British Comedy Guide, JOE and Chortle.
